Financial Assistance Relief Package For Deceased Family 2023 During Service Death
When a Government servant dies during his or her service under Punjab Government all departments. Then how much their family received a package about Financial Assistance relief after his/her death during Service? So, when a Govt servants die during service, his/her family suffers a large number of problems after his/her death. But Punjab Govt is providing “Financial Assistance” after his/her death to his/her family.

Nobody supports his/her family after his/her death and they will face a real problem because their family support member is no longer with them. Govt. institute in which he/she performs duty also could not bear their financial issue and stop their salary immediately after his/her death in service.

Financial Assistance Relief Package For Deceased Family

After the in-service death of Govt servant family will have to receive the following “Financial Aid” from Punjab Govt through the proper channels.

3-Funeral Grant
4-Monthly Grant
5-Four Months Salary
6-Educational Scholarships
7-Retention of Accommodation
8-Appointment of one Child or Widow
9-Financial Assistance
10-Leave Encashment
11-Marriage Grant
12-Farewell Grant
13-Final Payment of GPF

1-Pension & Gratuity
The Deceased’s Family shall be allowed salary, along with annual increments in the Pay, The deceased officer/official was
drawing till the date of superannuation (till the date of retirement) of the deceased civil servant. After that Family pension was under the rules of 1967. Widow or widower will receive salary as it is the deceased person was taking on his/her designation. Conveyance allowance will be deducted from the widow/widower’s salary. In this regard, the OSD post will be created in the name of the widow/widower at the deceased place of posting. Widow/widower took salary through OSD post till deceased superannuation (at the age of retirement). After that pension rules will be applicable to widows/widowers. He/She will receive increments/pay scale revised benefits like as servants took.

2- Group Insurance

Group Insurance also deducts from the salary of each regular servant every month from 1 scale to 21. After the death of Govt servant family will receive Group Insurance which amount from scale 1 to scale 4 is Rs 150000/-, Scale 5 to scale 10 Rs 175000/-, Scale 11 to Scale 15 Rs 300000/-, Scale 16 450000/-, Scale 17-Rs 600000/-, Scale 18, 875000/-, Scale 19, Rs 1050000/-, Scale 20 & above Rs 1250000/-. After 30th June 2020 Group Insurance case will submit to State Life Group Insurance Pakistan whose office is located in Davis Road Lahore.

3- Funeral Grant

This grant belongs to Benevolent Fund (BF). Government servants regularly pay 3% of running basic pay as deductions in the Benevolent fund. After the death of the government, the servant family will receive Funeral Grant (Kafan Dafan) grant. There are two parts according to providing a Funeral Grant. Gazetted and Non-Gazetted categories have the same amount for Funeral Grant. On a scale of 1 to scale 15 Funeral Grants were delivered by their own district BF office. Similarly from scale 16 to onwards Funeral Grant will be delivered by B.F board Alfalah Building Lahore. The Funeral Grant amount is Rs 35000/- for both Gazetted and Non-Gazetted Government Servants.

4-Monthly Grant

Monthly Grant also entertained from Benevolent Fund. From this grant widow of the deceased person will receive a Monthly Grant of Rs 3000 per month scale no 1 to 10, Rs 3500 scale no 11-15 Rs 3500, Scale 16-17 Rs 6500, Scale 18-19, Rs 11500/- and Scale 20 & above Rs 15500/- per month monthly grant will be delivered to widows after the death of Government Servant. This Monthly Grant is a forever and lifetime amount for widows. Monthly Grant is also entertained from the district level BF office for non-gazetted and for gazetted from Alfalah building BF Board Lahore.

5-Four Months Salary

The deceased family will receive Four Month’s Salary after the death of a Government servant in service. In this regard, the widow/widower will receive last month’s salary+ allowances according to financial assistance, and financial aid from the relevant District Accounts Office. The family will receive as it is salary+allowance which the deceased person last received before his/her death.

6-Educational Scholarships

Educational Scholarships are also related to benevolent funds. A government servant pays 3% as deducation in B.F payment. After the death of the Government Servant, his child receives Educational Scholarships. In this regard, the candidate must have completed matriculation at least 60% and also joined 1st year (FA/FSc) or relevant course in any Government or registered institution. If the candidate has completed the requirement he/she is able to receive Educational Scholarships after his/her mother or father’s death in service. If a dead person’s child received 90% marks or above in any discipline from matriculation or onward he/she will receive special Educational Scholarships.

7-Retention of Accommodation

The deceased person’s family can avail of Government accommodation till the date of his/her superannuation (date of retirement). After his/her retirement they are not able to receive the benefits of free Government accommodation.

8-Appointment of one Child or Widow

If a Government servant died during his/her service, his/her child or widow/widower can apply from scale 1 to scale 11 under 17-A rules. In this regard Government employee who died, and his/her family members who are intermediate and have typing skills can apply for the clerical posts which a scale is 11. Similarly, if they have low qualifications can apply for Class IV jobs on a scale of No 1. For clerical posts, they must have to pass typing speed which is at least 25 words per minute. After that, they will receive an appointment letter as clerks in nearby vacant posts.

9-Financial Assistance

The deceased family will also receive Financial Assistance. In this regard widow or widower will receive Rs 1600000/- from scale 1 to scale 4, Rs 1900000/- from scale 5 to scale 10, Rs 2200000/- from scale 11 to scale 15, Rs 2500000/- for scale 16 to 17, Rs 3400000/- for scale 18 to 19 and Rs 4000000/- for scale 20 and above. This huge amount is called Financial Assistance to the deceased person’s family. This amount will also claim from the respective District Accounts Office of your jurisdiction.

10-Leave Encashment

The deceased family will also receive Leave Encashment. Leave Encashment amount means the last basic pay that a government servant received before his/her death. If he/she has a leave account for 365 days his/her family can avail of Leave Encashment basic pay X12 months amount from your district accounts office. If he/she has less than 365 days of leave account, his/her family will receive the Leave Encashment amount as due according to his/her account.

11-Marriage Grant

The deceased Govt. servant’s family will also receive Marriage Grant at the time of his/her daughter’s marriage. This Marriage Grant is also delivered from Benevolent Fund. When a deceased person’s daughter is married, they can apply for Marriage Grant (Dowery Grant). For non gazetted Marriage Grant is Rs 55000/- scale 1 to scale 15. Rs 80000/- is for Gazetted employees from scale 16 to onwards. Non-Gazetted employee’s family can apply their respective BF office district level. Gazetted deceased family can apply for Marriage Grant in the Lahore Alfalah building.

12-Farewell Grant

This amount is related to Gazetted employees. After the death of Gazetted govt employee family can avail Farewell Grant which is the last basic pay. They can apply for Farewell Grant for the last basic pay if a gazetted govt employee died during his/her service.

13-Final Payment of GPF

The deceased Govt. The servant family can also receive the Final Payment of GPF. General Provident Fund or GPF is also deducted from the monthly salary each month. If a Govt servant died during his/her service his/her family will receive the Final Payment of GPF which he/she have in balance.
