Birth Registration Free of Cost Children in Punjab Union Councils
Punjab Government has announced birth registration free of cost for 7 years children in all union councils of Punjab. Now people of Punjab province can enter their children’s names in Union Councils, and Municipal corporations without any fee or fine till 7 years old children. Punjab Government has provided this offer from 10th December 2022 to 20th December 2022. So, hurry up and if you have not registered your child in your union council/Municipal corporations for 7 years and now you can register your child’s name in UC/MC free of cost. You don’t need a penny for your child’s registration in Union council till 20th December 2022.
The Directorate General Local Govt. & Community Division Punjab Lahore has been pleased to notify that in connection with celebrations of Universal Children Day 2022, the Local Government Department Punjab in collaboration with Social Welfare Department and UNICEF will launch a Birth Registration campaign across Punjab from 10th December 2022 to 20th December 2022.
It will be one week dedicated to promoting childbirth registration. All the directors, LG & CD Punjab are requested to advise Registration officials/union council secretaries to facilitate and enhance birth registration with a special focus on Girl Child registration in South Punjab. Public awareness events will be organized at the tehsil and district levels. DDLGs will ensure the presence of the UC Secretary in the union council office during the week for birth registration. The following activities will be carried out in connection with the Birth Registration campaign.
1- Enhance birth registration across Punjab, particularly Girl Child birth registration in South Punjab.
2- Promote the agenda of Birth registration at all public as well as private levels.
3- Engage all stakeholders to promote birth registration in the districts.
4- Ownership of the agenda by the government at provincial and local government institutions at the local level.
5- Work on the demand side of registration engaging parents/community on birth registration.
6- Public Awareness Campaign on the importance & procedure of birth registration (Birth Registration Rules 2021).
7- Close monitoring of birth registration during the BR Campaign.
8- Application to best performers at District Level.
9- Engage Social welfare, health, education, NADRA, Population Welfare Departments, and other stakeholders in the Birth Registration Campaign.
